Birmingham boss McLeish remains hopeful of landing Jovanovic

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish remains keen on Standard Liege striker Milan Jovanovic.

The Mirror says Brum have opened negotiations for Standard forward Jovanovic.

City's negotiations to buy Jovanovic, 28, for £4m are complicated due to a cash wrangle with agent Barry McIntosh, who was commissioned to do the transfer.

McIntosh has reported Birmingham to FIFA after clashing with the club's previous regime over the summer transfer of Christian Benitez.
