Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish admits he's no fan of the talkback culture of today's Premiership fans.
And McLeish has told Rafa Benitez not listen to radio phone-ins if he is to ride out his latest storm at Anfield.
The Birmingham boss said: "Gordon Strachan used to talk about the archetypal fan with his can of lager and his devil dog beside him lifting up the phone.
"It's the knee-jerk blame culture that we have grown up with in the last 10 years.
"There is no understanding that if you've done a great job in the past, we'll stick by you. It's just pick up the phone and call.
"Your family are the ones who are most affected. I have a pact in the house that whatever I heard and whatever I read, I don't bring it home. My family are fantastic.
"But you get your mother now and again ringing up and saying 'Did you see what that guy said about you?'"
