Birmingham boss McLeish eyes Man Utd's Foster

Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish will attempt to lure Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster to the club if they are unsuccessful in re-signing Joe Hart.

Reports suggest that McLeish is prepared to offer United £5million for the 27-year old if Manchester City bring Hart back who has been on loan at St Andrews all season.

Foster has been in and out of Sir Alex Ferguson's starting line-up but since Edwin van der Sar returned from fitness he has seen little game time.

The fact that United are linked with Marseille's Steve Mandanda also indicates that Foster could be on his way out with Birmingham as a potential home.
