Birmingham boss McLeish excited about super scout addition

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is delighted with the arrival of new chief scout Paul Montgomery.

Montgomery originally spotted Didier Drogba and Florent Malouda when he was with West Ham.

"Paul comes with a wealth of experience and I worked with him at Rangers when we restructured up there," McLeish told Blues' official website. "I feel we're a little short in that area. I hope we can unearth some gems."

Montgomery will also take an active part in recruiting younger players for the club's Academy.

"I'm delighted that the board have backed this appointment because, for the sake of Birmingham City and the club's future, this is a vitally important call."
