Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish was encouraged by Alex Hleb's performance in defeat to Everton.

McLeish said he saw encouraging signs from the Barcelona loanee.

He said: "Hleb started to look much better in the second half when we started to find him in between the lines. In the first half, we didn't find him enough in advanced areas. We had to get the ball to him there and he was more potent in the second half."
