Birmingham boss McLeish angry with players in Wigan defeat

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish was angry with his players after defeat to Wigan Athletic.

McLeish felt they weren't up to standard.

"We have to bounce back as we have done in the past," he said.

"We have made it hard for ourselves but the points are there and it is still in our own hands (they have one match in hand over their rivals).

"You have to look at the bigger picture with injuries because we've not been able to play the same team since (winning) the Carling Cup final.

"For the equalising goal we were all over the place and it was a soft goal to concede because we were in control and Wigan's fans were on their backs.

"We don't like losing so we'll have a few sleepless nights but this squad have proven time and time again that they know how to bounce back.

"They owe me, the club and supporters and improved performance when we play Bolton (their next game on April 2)."
