Birmingham boss Chris Hughton is reportedly no longer in the running for the vacant manager's position at midland rival's West Bromwich Albion. The Championship boss was thought to be on the shortlist of candidates to replace Roy Hodgson, but the Baggies have decided not to follow up their interest in the former Newcastle manager.

The fact that the Blues were looking for £2million in compensation for the 53-year-old may have been a factor in the Baggies losing interest.

The bookmakers' favourite for the vacancy is former Schalke and Stuttgart boss Ralf Rangnick.
