Birmingham boss Hughton open to return for West Brom's Wood

Birmingham City manager Chris Hughton admits he would like to have striker Chris Wood back at the club if it were possible.

The 20-year old New Zealand international spent the first half of the season on loan at St Andrew's, scoring 11 goals in 28 appearances (15 starts) in all competitions, but has now returned to parent club West Bromwich Albion.

Following his departure, Birmingham boss Hughton says he would be open to the idea of having Wood back in the future.

"[Chris] is a West Brom player. He's gone back to West Brom. His loan has finished," Hughton said.

"But we've been in regular communication with West Brom and he is one we'd like to bring back.''
