Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp open to staying on

Birmingham City boss Harry Redknapp is keen to stay on next season.

The former Tottenham manager could be tempted into staying on as Birmingham boss after masterminding their great escape.

Brum's 1-0 victory at Bristol City made it two wins in three since Redknapp answered an SOS from Chinese owner Paul Suen Cho Hung.

He confessed: “I'm not chasing work but I'll have a chat and see what the club's ambitions are.

"If they're ambitious and want to go somewhere and have a go next year, then I'd be interested. I haven't spoken to anyone at the club — I wouldn't have a clue what's going on, they may have somebody else in their plans.

“I just got on with it for a couple of games. I've got a good situation in my life and I don't feel like a 70-year-old. It's difficult.

“I've never discussed it with anybody but we had 28,000 at St Andrews last week and it's a proper football club."
