Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has wished Gary McSheffrey all the best over his return to Coventry City.

The 27-year-old, whose contract at St Andrew's expires on June 30, has signed a one-year deal with a further one-year option with the Sky Blues.

McSheffrey's return to Coventry comes as no surprise as it's a move that has long been touted.

On McSheffrey's departure, Blues boss Alex McLeish said: "We wish Gary all the best. He did well for us and hopefully he can recapture the form of a couple of years ago when we signed him from Coventry."
