Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish says new Irish signing Jay O'Shea is a project player.

The former Galway United winger struggled in their Carling Cup win over Southampton and Eck said: "He still has got a bit to do in terms of learning the game, especially in the Premier League.

"That was a big test for him last night. He worked away very hard and I'm sure he will bring something to the club."
