Birmingham boss Eck sees Queudrue as centre-half

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish sees Franck Queudrue now as a centre-half.

The Frenchman aggravated a hamstring injury in the 2-1 defeat at Burnley two weeks ago after being rushed back to replace Vignal.

Left-back has been a problem position for manager Alex McLeish, with three options now out of the equation in David Murphy, Gregory Vignal and Queudrue.

"We see Franck more in a centre-back role now as opposed to left-back but in an emergency, such as in the Burnley game, he came in for us," McLeish told the club's official website.

"Franck's got a big heart and pushed himself the week of the Burnley game. With Vignal getting injured we had to start him and by half-time his hamstring was feeling tight again.

"It was three weeks between picking up his injury and coming back for the Burnley game, which did seem a quick recovery.

"It's probably caught up with him a wee bit, which has resulted in him not being available. He may be back in a week or two."
