Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has revealed he has not been using frustrated winger Daniel De Ridder as he does think he suits their style of play.
"Danny hasn't been in the plans for a wee while and the irony was that the game that he could have been involved in was Aston Villa but he was still recovering from a hamstring injury," McLeish told the club's official website.
"He has been available again but I've had [Gary] McSheffrey, [Sebastian] Larsson and [Olivier] Kapo ahead of him.
"When they're fit, my decision has been for Danny not to play as those three are ahead of him in my eyes. Another manager might see it differently.
"I said to Danny a while back that I felt if we were more of a passing team, I may think about him more.
"That may sound a little bit out of the box, but that's the truth. I don't think we're a slick passing team and Danny's used to playing in the Dutch and Spanish teams where he's seen a lot of the ball."
