Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has admitted Schalke striker Kevin Kuranyi is on his shopping list.

The Germany international comes off contract in the summer.

And Eck says: "January is not an easy time to buy players and you rarely see the big guns buying players at this time.

"I don't believe we need to panic, given the position the team are in. If we were bottom of the league we maybe would be panicking just now.

''We would perhaps be trying to bring in Kuranyi or someone like that. Would Kuranyi want to come?

"I see all these names in the papers but it's not right for me to talk about them."
