Birmingham boss: Doyle axe tough decision

Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce admits it was a difficult decision to axe Colin Doyle in favour of Maik Taylor for Saturday's victory over Derby.

"Sometimes in management we get paid to make decisions," said Bruce. "It was tough to leave the big boy out because he's the one who got us here with those performances at Leicester and Wolves but he made a couple of mistakes and that affects your confidence.

"But you've also got to give credit to Maik Taylor for the way he's conducted himself these past seven months. He's never moaned once and he's got his reward."
