Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is delighted with the recent form of striker Gary O'Connor.
And he has shown glimpses of what McLeish knows he is capable of, from their time on the international scene with Scotland.
"He has done well," said the manager. "I would have looked for more from him and the other forwards in the Huddersfield Town game but he did well against Arsenal and Manchester United.
"A lot of people won't have seen the job he did as we played him in the hole at Arsenal and Manchester to try to stop their midfielders coming back deep and getting the ball.
"He's worked very hard in that role and to get a goal at the Emirates was a bonus.
"He wasn't holding it up well at the start but as the game progressed he got better and won some flick-ons. He and Cameron Jerome were quite a good threat.
"It was very promising between the two of them, and they worked so hard we sacrificed them at the end."
