Birmingham City boss Lee Clark is delighted to be keeping hold of Demarai Gray.
Crystal Palace came in with a late bid, believed to be around the £500,000 mark, for the 18-year-old winger.
But Blues and executive director Panos Pavlakis, who is running football operations and liaising closely with Clark from his St Andrew's base, gave the Eagles short shrift.
"One good thing for me about the deadline day was that no players went out of the door," Clark told the Birmingham Mail.
"How you guys in the media got it, I don't know, but it is common knowledge we had a bid for a young player which got turned down flat.
"It was rejected out of hand, it didn't even get considered.
"So that was a good point for me, probably the bonus of the day."
