Birmingham boss Bruce admits Mido "struggle"

Steve Bruce has admitted he is 'really struggling' to bring Mido to Birmingham.

The Blues boss agreed a £6million fee with Tottenham for the striker last week, but the deal now looks set to collapse.

Bruce admits it is hugely disappointing that the move will probably not go through, but he is still hoping to land Mido's Tottenham team-mate and fellow Egyptian Hossam Ghaly.

"You could say that both deals have been stuttering a bit - but the Mido one is a million miles away from happening," said Bruce.

"It is more than just personal terms. There are a few issues. It is a big blow and I have felt better. The more quality players you can sign the better.

"It looks as if we are really struggling with the Mido deal and I might have to look elsewhere."
