Birmingham to beat Wigan, Liverpool for Salcido
Submitted by tribalfootball.com on Tue, 08/24/2010 - 08:15
Birmingham City have made a move for PSV Eindhoven fullback Carlos Salcido.
The Daily Mail says Brum are keen on £2 million-rated Mexico leftback Salcido.
Wigan Athletic also wanted Salcido, 30, as did Liverpool, but Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has stepped in.

When you put it like that then your right. Better then Fulham, West ham, Sunderland, Wigan, Wolves, Blackpool, Blackburn, Bolton, Newcastle, WBA and Stoke. With that in mind, thats a 9th place finish. And with a couple of draws of the big ones and even some wins against Villa, Tottenham, maybe Liverpool, draw against Man City and a possible win against Everton then why not.
Well, im glad to see that Mcleish has finally realised that Birmingham need a new left back. Liam Ridgewell, although his great performance last season, doesn't cut it for me to be honest. I'd love our team to be:
Ben Foster
Alan Hutton
Roger Johnson
Scott Dann
Carlos Salcido
Sebastian Larrson
Barry Ferguson
Craig Gardner
Charles N'Zogbia
Cameron Jerome
Nikola Zigic
Subs:
McFadden
Derbyshire
O'Connor
Liam Ridgewell
Maik Taylor
Bowyer
That team could get us into Europe, we have a former Manchester United goalkeeper and future number one keeper for England, Tottenham and Rangers right back who cost Spurs £9-£10m, two centre halfs were probably two of the best centre halfs last season in the premier league, a left back who Liverpool wanted, ex Arsenal midfielder who has the crossing abillity of Beckham, former Rangers midfielder, ex Villa player who played in Europe, Left Mid who interested Juventus and Arsenal and Wolfsburg, ex Valancia striker who partnerd David Villa and a fast striker who was our top goal scorer who can pull a defence apart. When you say it like that, why not Europe.
