New Derby County boss Paul Jewell did have a previous offer from the Rams before accepting the job last week, it has been revealed.

The People says Jewell was approached by former chief executive Trevor Birch several weeks ago. Billy Davies found out and had a blazing row with Birch before getting the bullet.
