Spartak Moscow midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov says he had to get out of Everton due to a backlash over Russia's successful World Cup bid.

He says the sea change was part of the reason he joined Spartak Moscow this winter.

Bilyaletdinov said: "The atmosphere took a turn for the worse after we beat them to the rights to host the World Cup. The referees didn't have much sympathy for us."
