Sunderland defender Billy Jones says his side were left frustrated after failing to secure Premier League safety in against Leicester City on Sunday.
Sunderland sit two points above the relegation zone with games against Arsenal and Chelsea still to play.
A point against either of those two sides will be enough for the Black Cats to stay up, however Jones has revealed the club had hoped to guarantee survival in the home clash with Leicester.
"It was frustrating. They came with a game plan to frustrate us and pick up the point they needed to confirm their safety," he said.
"The supporters stuck with us in what was a frustrating game and they head and kick every ball, so hopefully they will be celebrating on Wednesday night.
"We have drawn too many games this year but hopefully we can draw one more to ensure our Premier League status."
