The switch to Albion marks the biggest step up of his career and the Shrewsbury-born defender admits that having a decent bunch of players around will help him progress.
“It’s a new club for myself and you look out for that team spirit which is most definitely here,” he told the Sunday Mercury. “I thought it would be here after how well they did last year where maybe people were expecting them to crumble when they had that dip in form.
“But they stuck together and finished a superb 11th.
“Hopefully the spirit stays there for this season and we can improve again. First of all it’s getting to that magic 40-point mark.
“If you can get there in the Premier League you’re almost certain to be safe, so getting to that magic mark as soon as possible is important.”
