Billy Davies is set to return to Nottingham Forest in the coming days.
The Daily Mail says Davies is set to return to Nottingham Forest as manager for a second spell as the club’s Kuwaiti owners offered an olive branch to their supporters.
The Scot, who has been out-of-work since leaving the City Ground in June 2011, will be a popular choice among fans as the Al-Hasawi family look to appoint their third boss since taking over last summer.
Davies had been interviewed for the vacant position at Blackpool but told Seasiders’ chairman Karl Oyston that he wanted to pursue another opportunity.
Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi was whittling down a shortlist from his base in London yesterday and Davies is expected to be announced as Alex McLeish’s successor within the next 24 hours.
