Bilic understands West Ham jeers

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic had no problem with booing fans after their Europa League defeat to Astra at London stadium.

The Hammers crashed out of the play-off stages at the hands of the Romanians for the second year in a row and supporters made their opinions clear at the break.

"We didn't play good. Of course the crowd had every reason to boo you if you are not playing good," said Bilic.

"But then they need so little. They don't need a goal to come back and cheer you. They need a tackle. At the start of the second half we had two tackles, we didn't even win the ball but suddenly you can here them it's roaring it's loud it's everything.

"It is up to us. If you do that they're going to be completely behind us and they're going to be a massive advantage for us.

"Of course they like passing and everything, the way Payet and Lanzini and them all, Di Canio or Ian Bishop those type of players. But also their big, big heroes were those players like Julian Dicks, like Billy Bonds, those kind of players - Cheikhou Kouyate – them."
