Croatia coach Slaven Bilic has hailed the ability of Tottenham ace Luka Modric.

It was revealed yesterday that Manchester United had agreed terms with Spurs over a fee for the midfielder.

Bilic enthused: "Italy have Pirlo, Spain have Xavi but we have Modric.

"I'm not saying Xavi or Pirlo are bad players. I'm saying Luka is as good as them."
