Bilic raves about West Ham's 'massive achievement' in transfer market

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has hailed the club's activity in the summer transfer window so far.

Following a disappointing campaign last term, West Ham clearly needed to strengthen their squad this summer and they have certainly done so in emphatic fashion by bringing in high-profile names such as Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez to the London Stadium till now.

Bilic has gone on to speak about his new players and has expressed his delight at the capture of the established quartet, hailing the club board for pulling off the deals.

Bilic said: "I said at the end of last season that we don't need squad players, but we need top players, the players who are going to improve the first eleven.

"I wanted quality players who will make a difference if everyone is fit. It's a massive achievement – it's not easy, but we have done it.

"You never know how it is going to click, but we have done well. It is important that we have done it early enough in the transfer window.

"The majority of that is done, so congratulations to the Chairman, to the Board. They have done brilliantly and people from other clubs have recognised it."
