Slaven Bilic is furious with Newcastle striker Michael Owen after claims that none of the Croatia team would be good enough for England's first XI.

Having knocked England out of Euro 2008, Croatia face them again in World Cup qualifying.

Coach Bilic said: "There's a bit of arrogance when we see words like 'No player from the Croatia team would play for England' - that is simply not true.

"You have to realise football is played in the rest of Europe on a high level.

"But I respect the English a lot. When everybody is fit they have the chance to win in Europe, maybe even the World Cup."
