Bilic absolutely the right man for West Ham – Redknapp

Former West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp believes Slaven Bilic is the perfect man to manage and lead the Hammers.

Bilic, who arrived at Upton Park from Besiktas recently, played for one season for the Hammers under Redknapp and became a fan favourite during that time.

Redknapp told The Express: "I think West Ham will do very well. I think Slaven will do well there. They are a team that could finish around about halfway again.

"I signed Slaven, and I sold him. He's a good lad and he was a good player, and I'm sure he'll do a good job there. Absolutely (the right man for the situation), I think he'll do very well.

"There are lots of good players at West Ham. Sam (Allardyce) did a great job whichever way you look at it, but Slaven has got the advantage that he was an ex-player, the crowd liked him and just for whatever reason they didn't like Sam. But Sam did a good job.

"He'll be given time, I'm sure he will, they've got the nucleus of a really good team I think, I think the front two of (Diafra) Sakho and (Enner) Valencia have got pace and they're a good team. I think they'll finish round about tenth."
