Newcastle United currently sit second bottom in the league with two points, but Chelsea striker Loic Remy believes the Magpies will eventually recover from their slump.
The 28-year-old is in contention to start against his former club on Saturday as Blues' main striker Diego Costa is serving a three-game suspension.
Regarding Newcastle's woes, Frenchman Remy is confident the Toon are capable of turning things around after a winless beginning to the new season.
"I'm surprised at them because they are quite a big, strong team," said Remy.
"I am sure they will get better very soon.
"It's my old club, so it's always a pleasure to play against them.
"But the manager will decide the best team so we'll see on Saturday."
