Former West Bromwich Albion manager Ron Atkinson is a big fan of what Robert di Matteo is doing at the Hawthorns.
Big Ron enjoyed a successful first stint at the Hawthorns from January 1978 to June 1981 before going to Old Trafford as United boss.
The club finished third under him in 1978-79, including a famous 5-3 victory at Manchester United, as the likes Brendon Batson, Laurie Cunningham and Cyrille Regis excelled.
Now Atkinson is enjoying the new generation of Albion stars such as Peter Odemwingie and Chris Brunt.
"The club are really doing great," said Atkinson, in rude health after a holiday in Tenerife.
"It is good to watch the team at the moment - some fans have said it is like the good old days! I have been very impressed with the team.
"Di Matteo has got the lads playing as a team and the club have made some decent signings.
"They have benefited by surprising a few teams I think.
"But they have deserved their results and now look like they can establish themselves in the Premier League, which would be great to see."
