Edwin van der Sar has refused to comment on Manchester United's deal for David De Gea.
United have chosen the 20 year-old Atletico Madrid goalkeeper to succeed the retiring 40 year-old Van der Sar.
The Independent says De Gea is the big gamble.
Van der Sar declined to pass comment on his successor on Saturday evening, though United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes he is right to put his faith in the 20-year-old.
