Former Genk boss Alex McLeish is convinced Newcastle United have pulled off a coup with their Anderlecht double.
Chancel Mbemba will follow Aleksandar Mitrovic to Newcastle possibly today.
“Managing over there I saw a lot of the two lads, both from scouting games and from actually playing against Anderlecht a couple of times. I saw Graham Carr at a few of our games and the first one was against Anderlecht, where Mbemba and Mitrovic played," Eck told the Evening Chronicle.
“It's a good standard. The top two or three clubs I think would compete in the Premier League. Anderlecht probably should have beaten Arsenal twice in the Champions League last year, and below that it's probably higher end of the Championship standard. But it's certainly competitive, even for the top clubs, and getting better.
