Rolando Bianchi says Manchester City would be a top club in Serie A.
"If you make the right decisions and have the right mental sharpness and eye for an opening, you can be very successful in England as well as in Italy.
"We have a lot of intelligent, technically gifted players in the City squad, clever footballers, and I have no doubt that we could play easily in Serie A."
He added: "There are a lot of new players here and the manager and the players all know we will get better as the season progresses.
"Of course sometimes on the pitch there is confusion in communication but we are all working hard on that and it will get better too."
