Habib Beye has dedicated his winner against Birmingham to Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce.

Senegal fullback Beye told the Evening Chronicle: "It was my first goal for Newcastle and my first in the Premier League.

"But it has been hard work from the team and especially the manager, he's been very brave. A lot of people have had plenty to say about the manager, but he has done a good job.

"I think everybody at the club will enjoy that goal, the fans, the chairman, the owner and the players. Everybody wants to win for this club.

"We were unlucky against Blackburn and should have won against Arsenal, but we've won now against Birmingham."
