Best hope of Arsenal landing Lewandowski if Guardiola signs long-term Bayern deal

Arsenal could still quite possibly land Robert Lewandowski according to reports.

The Daily Mail is of the belief that Arsene Wenger's hopes of signing the Polish striker from Bayern Munich could hinge on Pep Guardiola.

It is believed that the former Barcelona boss perhaps does not see Lewandowski as an integral part of his squad going forward as he is not the typical striker a Guardiola team uses.

Therefore, despite scoring five goals in nine minutes against Wolfsburg on Tuesday night, Lewandowski may not necessarily remain with the Bundesliga giants.

The report indicates that the former Borussia Dortmund star may look to leave the Allianz Arena if Guardiola signs a long-term contract with Bayern as he much prefers a Thomas Muller or Mario Gotze type as his centre-forward.

Nevertheless, 27-year-old record-breaker Lewandoswki remains a Bayern player and judging by Guardiola's reaction to his stunning fifth goal, the Poland international could feature more prominently for the reigning German champions.
