Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz is in the sights of big spending Besiktas.

Fanatik says Santa Cruz is aware of Besiktas' interest and keen on a lucrative move to Istanbul. The Paraguay international has informed his representatives he wants the deal closed before the World Cup kicks off.

Besiktas want to broker a loan deal with City with the option of making Santa Cruz's stay permanent at the end of next season.

The Turkish club will count on City covering a major proportion of the striker's wages during his stay.
