Besiktas make offer for Tottenham keeper Gomes

Besiktas have joined the race for Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

The Daily Star says Brad Friedel's arrival from Aston Villa could spell the end for error-prone Gomes, who is wanted by Turkish club Besiktas.

They have already offered £3m for the Brazilian but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants more than double that for a player who cost around £8m from PSV Eindhoven three years ago.

PSV are also keen.
