Besiktas are on the verge of signing Real Betis midfielder Marcos Assuncao.
Turkish sources indicated that the Brazilian would be tying up his move to Istanbul yesterday, however it's emerged the switch has been delayed due to the prospect of Hector Cuper taking over at Betis.
Cuper is expected to be confirmed as new Betis coach in the next 24 hours and would like Assuncao to stay on next season.
Besiktas are offering the midfielder a cool £1 million-a-year to play in Turkey.
