Besiktas boss Slaven Bilic has fond memories of his time with Everton.
But he admits he's found Liverpool unrecognisable after returning for tonight's Europa League clash with the Reds.
"I was in the other part of the city, of course, as I was with Everton.
"I came with great expectations of playing for our chairman, Peter Johnson. The club was, and will always be, big enough to win the league.
"Unfortunately I got injured but I enjoyed it, it was a massive club. The people are great here.
"I lived up in Formby, and after I left in 2000, I did not come back until 2012, when I was manager of Croatia and I came to see Nikica Jelavic play for Everton.
"I was in the city almost every day from 1997 to 2000 but when I came back after those 12 years, the city had totally changed.
"Obviously I know the Albert Dock and I know Mathew Street, but as I was driving from my hotel to the ground, I was saying 'I don't recognise that building! That wasn't here before!' The change in the city since I was here has been incredible."
