Demba Ba is putting past glories against Liverpool behind him as he prepares to meet the Merseysiders on Thursday.
The Senegalese striker scored a goal for Chelsea last season, after Steven Gerrard had slipped, which was crucial to the failed Premier League title hopes of the Reds.
Today, Ba is with Turkish side Besiktas and again plotting the downfall of Liverpool when he and his teammates head to Anfield for tomorrow's Europa League Round of 32 first leg but he insists the goal for Chelsea now only lives in the past.
"What happened last year belongs to the past, now it is time to make something new. Even Liverpool are different from last year," said Ba.
"It is very good when you play this kind of opposition. Liverpool are one of the top teams in the world and we are here to get something."
Since joining Besiktas from Chelsea in the summer, former Newcastle United star Ba has been in fine form scoring 22 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions for the Istanbul outfit.
