Nicolas Bertolo thought he would be forced to leave Palermo over the summer.

Bertolo admitted in an interview with livesicilia.it this week that he believed he was on his way out of Palermo, but he now finds himself in the team, and performing well.

"I am very happy now. I waited for this moment for two years. However, I've only played two good games in a row, so I must continue to train to deliver the maximum.

"Best moment of the team? Against Cagliari, although we also played well against Lazio, particularly in the first half. This is a positive moment for all, we must continue on this road.

"I can definitely give more. Against Cagliari I was a bit tired, considering it was my first game in a long time. I can still play for 90 minutes though."
