Olivier Bernard has urged former club Newcastle United to go for Marseille striker Loic Remy.

Remy is interesting several Premier League clubs, including Toon.

Bernard told the Evening Chronicle: "I know Loic very well.

"He is a fantastic player but he has been injured.

"He hasn't been a regular for Marseille. He now needs to look ahead.

"Last year he played for France and wore the No 9."
