AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi is insisting on Filippo Galli as new coach next season.
La Repubblica says unless there is a major change in the Italian PM's thinking, Galli will be promoted from his youth director's role to succeed Leonardo as senior head coach. Mauro Tassotti will remain as Galli's No2.
The shake-up will also see youth coach Mauro Pederzoli take Galli's job - and in the process heading off Juventus, which wanted him to join Rafa Benitez's new-look backroom staff.
Meanwhile, while Chievo Verona's 34 year-old defender Mario Yepes will arrive on a Bosman, Milan also are close to agreement for two young defensive prospects.
Hamburg wing-back Dennis Aogo is a step away from signing with Milan, while the return of Davide Astori, currently at Cagliari, has also been discussed.
