Silvio Berlusconi has given up on AC Milan's Serie A hopes for this season with his main focus on the Champions League. Berlusconi, AC Milan's President and Prime Minister of Italy, believes that the rossoneri should be focussing now on ensuring qualification for next season's Champions League.

Speaking to the Milan Channel, Berlusconi said: "Has the Scudetto slipped from our grasp? Well, nine points is a lot.

"In any case, we will try to reduce the gap because that is essential for us, so we can return to fighting it out in Europe in the Champions League.

"The Champions League place is our objective and I think we are able to achieve that."
