AC Milan will urge Chelsea to bid for Andrea Pirlo this week, it has been revealed. Corriere della Sera says Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi is serious about downsizing at the cash-strapped giants and has told vice-president Adriano Galliani to reopen talks with Chelsea about selling Pirlo.
Berlusconi believes Pirlo has become a "luxury", which they can afford to sell this summer.
Carlo Ancelotti, the new Chelsea manager, is excited about counting on the prime midfield schemer and will welcome Pirlo with open arms to Stamford Bridge.
