Former Tottenham and Bolton defender Gudni Bergsson says ex internationals Gary Neville and Frank Lampard would be ideal senior football administrators, reports BBC Sport.
The 51 year old is standing for election as president of the Icelandic Football Association this weekend.
He thinks the game would be better off having more ex-players running it.
He said: "If you had the likes of Gary Neville and Frank Lampard involved, it would strengthen the image and decision making of the professional game."
