Siena coach Mario Beretta is full of pride after their 3-0 thumping of Roma on Sunday.
"Clearly we showed our strengths out there and used them to combat a side that are better than us," Beretta enthused on Rai Radio Anch'io Sport.
On the controversy surrounding local refs, Beretta added: "We are going through a tough time.
"Referees make mistakes and naturally there are nerves.
"It's not an easy road. We need to change the way we live calcio, but it's a cultural change and that's the difficulty.
"Foreign referees could be an idea and they could help the young officials who are being put under so much pressure at the moment.
"Also I think it could be useful if refs train by taking charge of the friendly games that sides play during the week."
