The former Fulham striker signed for ASM, where Evra once played, on deadline day last week.
He said: "I was looking for something new. When Monaco contacted me, I spoke about it with Patrice Evra, one of my very good friends, and he said good things about the team. I know Ricardo Carvalho - I played against him in England - so I don't feel like a new player.
"In fact, it was easy for me to chose. It is a great team and I know the coach (Claudio Ranieri) who worked in England. It is a new adventure."
