Berbatov brilliance leaves Man Utd boss Ferguson gasping

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson hailed the creativity of Dimitar Berbatov after their 2-0 win over West Ham.

Ferguson has claimed Berbatov's superb contribution to Cristiano Ronaldo's second in the win was worth the admission money on its own.

Seemingly shadowed by James Collins, Berbatov left the Hammers defender stranded next to the byline with an amazing pirouette before presenting Ronaldo with a two-yard tap-in as United eased home.

"Dimitar's play was for the second goal was absolutely magnificent," said Ferguson. "You would pay a lot of money to watch that.

"He has such fantastic control and balance. It truly was marvellous."

Not that Ferguson was entirely happy with his team as a first-half stroll turned into a second-half slog.

A landslide looked on the cards when Ronaldo belted home Nani's cross, then slotted home the eye-catching second. But chances were squandered and the edge disappeared from the Red Devils' play, much to Ferguson's frustration.

"The first-half was magnificent but the second was disappointing," said the Scot.

"I felt we were going to add to our goal tally, which could be important at the end of the season, but we didn't capitalise."
